Hi Diane,
It sounds to me like digital product is best for you now.
Digital Product is:
1. ebooks.
2. software cds.
3. domain names
4. services
The above items require little or no money to buy and then sell. After you have some digital product going, then maybe "small accessories". Small accessories for PDA, phone, computer PC, laptop, game systems, electronics, etc.
EBOOKS AND HOW TO SELL:
Yes, it is true, many people do not know how to sell ebooks, so they sell them for even 1 penny or 10 cents.
But, the secret is that even if someone sells it for 10 cents, you can sell it for $5 or even $10 dollars.
I will show you how..
But
first, I will explain why it works this way.
A simple formula:
Good Solid Ad + Good Matched Price = Most Profits.
Another formula:
Higher Price = Higher Perceived Value in Customer's Mind.
So, if you have a low price, people will assume it is "worthless". But, if you have a higher price, this makes it look like it is more valuable. Often, you can sell the same or even more than the person selling for 1 penny.
Some other Tricks:
1. Differentiate your ad to look totally different, almost like it is a different ebook than the cheap sellers.
2. Point out all of the benefits of the ebook, rather than the features.
Features: 100 pages, 10 steps.
Benefits: Will make you money, Will help
you cook great food, Will show you how to make real money gambling, etc..
OK, I CAN GIVE YOU A STEP BY STEP PROCESS FOR MAKING AN EBOOK MAKE LOTS OF MONEY.
The below will give you steps for making a very profitable ebook.. To give you an idea, I have a "TV Projector Kit" I sell on ebay. It is an information product, where I print out the plans and send them to the customer. They can also be put on CD or ebook.
I have made about $75,000 profit over 3 years selling the "TV Projector Kit".
Here are my TV Projector Kit auctions:
Sincerely
Tony

Hi Tony,
Sorry it's
taken me so long to get back to you!
I live in Singapore and have sold a couple of items on
eBay.com.sg.
I don't have a lot of capital or space available to invest in physical inventory, so I'm either hoping to set up a website dealing in downloadable information products (i.e. ebooks, maybe software and scripts), or something with dropshippable products (though I don't really know how to find, or go about dealing with dropshippers, either).
One thing I'd like to know is - do people really buy these things on eBay? What I see is a lot of people selling similar items, followed by price undercutting, and downloadable items, especially, going for about a cent each.
I've never listed items on the US eBay site before - is this expensive? Is it likely that I'll recoup the cost of listing/advertising?
Thanks, and hoping to hear from you soon!
:) Diane

O'REILLY: All right, Lis ... I sell bibles in Tarzana, CA. Lenny comes in, & he's got a ... beard. He's wearing a dress ... I have to hire him?
LIS WIEHL: You can't not hire Lenny.
O'REILLY: Yes, but ... Don't you see my business point here? ... the state of Calif .. is forcing me to hire people that may be detrimental to my business.
LIS WIEHL: appearance shouldn't matter. When you're selling bibles.
O'REILLY: Ms. Rivers, you understand ... better than Lis because she went to Harvard Law School, and that disqualifies her from common sense.
