Can you explain to me more what you have done and what you know about salvage, ebooks, etc?
I am not sure if you are one of those people who know it and are gun shy on taking steps to bring it to pass, OR you are someone who understands the basics to it all, but do not get the specifics or details?
As you know, knowing and doing are very different. I have a friend who understands much of what I do, but he really doesn't get how to apply it and has a hard time getitng himself to do so. He can talk it, but he can not walk it.
I am thinking you are either in this boat or you are in the boat where you got the basics, but don't get the specifics to turn it into reality. In this situation, you get the overall, just not the details that make the steps to bring it to pass.
The idea is you can only know so much from the outside. You have to apply what you know using calculated risk and then you can take the next step in the learning process.
Once I know which boat you are in, I believe I could direct you better.
Also, another approach would be for you to put into words better what it is you have tried and what were the results. The more detail, the better I can assist..
FINDING GOOD STUFF:
Once you have done it for a while, it becomes rather easy. I can buy and sell many many different types of product successfully.. There is NOTHING that beats the education you get from experience and calculated trial and error.. The idea with coaching is to get a good start and to avoid the biggest costly pitfalls. And they can be FAR costly, as I have made several thousand dollar pitfalls in the past.. The important thing I learned though is LOOSING money is one of the best teachers.. Sounds crazy, but look at all the millionares out there.. They often go out of business 2 times before making it big..
Basically, I can buy ANY electronic item and safely sell it quickly and for profit.. I understand the market very thoroughly and know most all the pitfalls to avoid..
There are so many details it is hard to educate only by book or by coaching..
Its like the Matrix. I can only open the door, you must walk through.. A lot of it has to do with convincing yourself it is a good buy and that it is a good risk..
FOR EXAMPLE, you can give me something you are looking at buying and I can tell you how to analyze that item to know if it is a good buy.. There are several criteria, so when I break it down you will get a good idea from it..

The funny thing about what you wrote is that most of it it I kind of know about. I've probably bought 20 to 30 ebooks over the last several years and whats hard for me to break away from is that there are so many others sellers doing the same thing, and it just makes me frustrated and shuts me down.
Tony I've bought so many of these ebooks like Silent sales machine, How to sell clothes,sell childrens books, how to yard sale shop, finding public domain products, and on and on.
A lot of the problem is that even though these products are good it takes awhile to get the expertise to find the good stuff.
I know that I am going to have to stick with something, treat it as a business and take it seriously.
I do like the idea of selling general merchandise like you do. The only problem that may arise is that a lot of the time you don't really know what your getting and a deffective return is not going to generate the same price as a new product, but if it sells well thats ok with me.
Importing I don't want to deal with especially freight costs and customs costs, unless its a company thats fairly reputable.
I do like your other idea of finding accessories for guitars, finding a niche. Its just that old negative thinking comes in to play thinking there are already enough sellers out there doing the same thing.
Tony what of your automatic ebook selling that you advertised in your listing. Is this something I can try and make a little money at.
You know its 4:30 am my time writing you, thinking a lot and wanting to make this work. I hope I'm not to big of a challenge for you. But I really do appreciate the ideas you've given.I have plenty of time to work on ebay and or create a web page,so there are no excuses on this end.
