Basically, anything that is name brand that you can get cheap and seem to be popular buys in stores, will sell good on ebay.
Including designer shoes. BUT, this is only if they are name brand or common brand shoes.. Even if you have never heard of the shoe brand, women likely have. Basically, if he is getting these as salvage from some big chain store like Mervins or JC Pennys, etc than they are likely to sell good on eBay, if the shoes are popular.
I do see a couple pitfalls with shoes, but they are the same pitfalls you see with most product on eBay and the point is you can avoid the pitfalls:
Essentially, what you should do is take his list of items on the pallets and do searches on eBay.. Look at them as money makers. It does not matter if they are shoes, Tvs, whatever. The point is to look at how they sell on eBay and how much you are going to pay for them and if they are something that will make you decent money.
So, whatever the items are on the pallets, get the manifest/list of the items and do individual searches and check the "completed items" box on the left so you are looking at ended auctions.. Be precise in your searches putting in the model numbers, name brand, specific words, etc so you are looking at the exact same thing and are seeing what it is worth.. Then, just do the math.. Add up how much the pallet will cost you, add up how much you will make from the items, and then make sure you are atleast doubling or getting close to doubling what you paid..
That is how I do all pallets.. So, I try to double the money I paid.. That is a good safe way to do it.. Just in case you get something that is broken, damaged, etc..
NOW, after doing this, if the numbers are not good, don't buy the shoes.. If the numbers are good, things on the pallets seem to sell well at good prices, that double what you paid, buy it!
BUT, also make sure he is a trustworthy guy to buy from.. Tell him on your first purchase from him, you would like to pay by credit card.. He should be able to accept it.. If not, and he will only accept bank transfers and is adament about it, forget him.. There are a few out there that want to scam. Only a few, so that is why I am saying on the first buy use a credit card..

I have been checking out the wholesale lots on ebay, especially the laptops, and they want alot for them to where I don't think that I would be able to make profit and I dont want to loose on my first major purchase. This may sound like I am scared of losing my shirt and it may be right. Please email me back and give me some advice on how to go about getting good product. I did have a real good expeirience a while back when I listed an old cookie jar and it ended up bringing $720.00! Sure wish I had a pallet of them. Also would it be better to go and get the pallet with my van and maybe a trailer? Everyplace that I have checked into are either on the east or west coast and I live here in SW Colorado and the shipping freight is pretty high. Do places like sears sell returned merchandise to regular Joe's like me or do you need a resaler liceince? Should I check into getting something like that? If so what kind of licence should I get and where would I get one. I do have a merchant account that I am still paying for when I got suckered into signing up for that website I was telling you about. It is for taking credit card payments online but paypal and ebay takes care of that.
