At my sons place as I write this to you.He has just bought a new DVD player and is wondering
whether this would be appropriate
It is a Telefunken (Know its not the best brand name but has some pretty good features I think)
Dolby Digital,Video CD,Compact Dig aud.Hdcd,Comp disc dig video,DVD,Card reader,Dig MP3,Usb,
MPEG4.DVD,DVD-/+R/RW,DEC,DC-R/RW,MP3,mpeg4,DIVx
Memory card reader & USB1.1 port.DVD multi media
player
Ok that’s it hope this is of some help.Think I might just give up and wait for awhile.I do appreciate
all your help but this is getting a little toooooo complex for me!!!!!!
Truly thanks and kindest regards

OK, there is the complicated, save a ton of money method
The simple, buy in Australia save a bit method.
With the more complex, you could really save a ton of money..
Basically with this method, you would be buying from a seller in America , who is selling on ebay, such as:
But, the whole issue is this.
Australia has PAL and USA uses NTSC.
So, you would need a multisystem DVD player, for it to play NTSC DVDs created by the dvd camcorder. Its spelled out here:
So, if you already have a multisystem DVD
player, then you would be in luck and could get a really cheap DVD camcorder from the States.
The other issue is we are on 110 and you are on 220 volts.. That is generally converted pretty easily using a simple attachment such as:
So, that is what the "complex" way is.
I set out the only two issues and you could save yourself a few hundred dollars this way.
The other is the simple, save a hundred bucks in Australia method..
Where I just find you the best deal in Australia ..

Thanks again for your help I will try and answer your questions as well as I can
Our power here is 240watts
I would love nothing too large, would like it to have at least a 2.5 screen
Would prefer disc not cassette to record
Be able to charge it and not rely on batteries(found out the hard way how quickly
Take still photos with zoom
This is my absolute dream camcorder but not sure if this is available or if its
worth a fortune.unfortunately our $ value is not as strong as yours so it might
be cheap there but with the exchange rate it might not be so cheap here.
And lastly Im sorry but I don’t know
what PAL or NTSC is.I will ask a few
people tomorrow and write back with an answer.
Thanks again Tony for your help with this.
Looking forward to your reply

I am guessing, from my experience with Camcorders internationally, that maybe getting one for very cheap from the USA would be the best route..
I would need to ask a couple questions, though, to make sure it is possible..
Do you have PAL or NTSC for your TVs in Australia ?
Also, what is your power wattage? Do you run like Germany and Europe ? Or like the
USA on power?
I will look in Australia and the USA for the best deal for you..
I know I can get you a REALLY good deal and I am VERY careful to make sure you get a good deal and all works well for you..
1. What type of camcorder are you looking for.. Some specs..
2.
What is the power in your country?
3. Do you use NTSC or PAL for video playback in your country?
Once I know these things, I can find a very good deal for you.. !!

Thanks for your email and your very generous offer.I would love some assistance in purchasing a
Camcorder.I haven’t done any research on this as yet so am not sure of prices and which one would
be the best for my purposes so I need a little time to familiarise myself with this.
When I bid for your item it was just an impulse I thought yes that’s what I need I’ll bid and see
How much it goes for!!!Ha you know the rest as they say the rest is history.Anyway I will
do my homework this time and contact you if you like when I know what I want and how much I
want to spend. Thanks again your very kind
