Truly sorry for not getting back sooner..  The disney internet server was not working last night at all.. I tried about 8 times to get online and finally fell asleep at 2 am after giving up.
 
Well, its 3 am now today and now I am going through all of my email ..  Things are slow here, as I am at Disney world, for that I do apologize.. Will be over soon and things will be back to normal..
 
Onto your quesitons..
 
Well, actually, there are several programs for automation of auctions.. But dependant on what you are selling, you will need a program suited..
 
For instance, most of my auctions are repetitive is that I just sell the same thing over and over..  In this case, I use eBay "Selling Manager Pro"
 
 
Now, if you are selling a wide variety of items and they are not as repetitive, you might want to use Turbo lister:
 
 
I personally do not like it, due to a few reasons, one of the main ones being it had some bugs in it when I was using it.
 
DROPSHIPPERS, ETC
 
Yes, you are right.. Dropshippers are generally a waste of time..
 
Also, many wholesalers suck ass..
 
And yes, if you go direct for liquidation, they will want you to buy oodles..
 
SO, what you want is to buy from the guy who bought the liquidation!  
 
For instance, Genco Salvage Auctions:
 
 
I have bought about $120,000 of wholesale product from them for about $40,000 or less..  Basically, you will pay about 30% of the wholesale price, which is about 25% or less of the retail or regular price..
 
AND, I have sold just about all of it with good success..  All name brand, all from Sears, JC Pennys, Banana Republic and many other stores that you usually see in malls.. 
 
So, I sold it for double or triple what I paid.
 
You bid on pallets in an auction setting..  Since you are not registered you can't even see what is being bid on..  Here is one auction manifest for the lot:
 
You would bid on this..  Bid starts at 10% of wholesale..  SO, this one will start its bid at $84.24, no joke..  Now, the bid is already up to:  $253, which is pretty high already.. Probably will end at about $290 or so..

I have sold name brand and non-branded..
 
Name brand is predictable and follows a standard pattern of depreciation over time..
 
Non-branded is like the waves of the sea..  Could be killer one day and the next you are selling it to get your money back..  Trust me, I have bought about $30,000 from overseas atleast and sometimes it was good profits and sometimes it was just get the money back..
 
With import product you have to CORNER the market to make the good money..  I have seen some do it, but like you said, you have to have the money to buy the product, which is pretty hard to get enough to do such a thing..   Big investment and risk..

A little information about myself, might help you.  I have been a power seller off and on.  Of course the main problem I have had is finding ongoing products that people want.  I have looked at many programs, drop shipping, wholesalers.  With no success!  Drop shipping, takes the control out of my hands and I have never found a company with competive pricing. ( Just a waste of time) Wholesalers about the same success.  When I attempted to go directly to manufactuers for there liquidation products, either they wouldn't deal with me or I would have to buy 10's of thousand of dollars of product.  I really want to make between $7500.00 and $10,000.00 a month.
That it in a nut shell.
So any advise or steps I should take from you, would be appreciated.
