ERNST VON KIMAKOWITZ received his PhD from the Institute for Business Ethics of the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland and works as an independent consultant. Within The Humanistic Management network he leads the consulting service offer. His primary research interest is the transnational corporation as a development agent. More specifically he is looking at the interaction between transnational corporations and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in developing economies. This interest is based on the assumption that a healthy SME sector offers substantial benefits to foreign direct investors whilst presenting a strong lever for local development. In his consulting work he focuses on projects related to corporate social responsibility and economic development. His mandates include consulting engagements for the United Nations (UNCTAD), as well as for various private sector clients.MICHAEL PIRSON currently a research fellow and a lecturer at Harvard University. He received his PhD in Organizational Behavior from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. His research focuses on the conditions of stakeholder trust in organizational contexts. He is also examining the impact of organizational design on stakeholder well being and looks at social enterprises as humanistic alternatives to traditional business design. In his teaching, he focuses on the management dilemmas in the 21st century, such as ecological and social sustainability, stakeholder trust, employee engagement and individual happiness. He also uses activity based learning techniques to teach social entrepreneurship. HEIKO SPITZECK lecturer at Cranfield University´s Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility in the UK. During 2006 - 2007 he held visiting scholar positions at the University of California at Berkeley and Fordham University in New York and has been awarded his PhD at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. In the European Business Ethics Network (EBEN) he is responsible for the network´s communication activities. Between 2004-2006 he served as Director for oikos International, a student-driven NGO for sustainable management and economics. His research is oriented around organizational behavior, especially learning and innovation from business and society interactions (corporate responsibility, normative and strategic management, NGO strategy, sustainability and management education). CLAUS DIERKSMEIER Associate Professor for philosophy at Stonehill College, Easton (Boston), MA / USA. He studied philosophy, law, and theology in Hamburg and Münster, Germany. After receiving his PhD in Hamburg, Germany and his “Habilitation” degree in Jena, Germany, Claus did further research on socio-liberal philosophy in Spain and Latin America (Uruguay, Argentina), before, six years ago, he came to the Boston area. He is the author of several books and many articles on ethics, the history of legal and economic ideas WOLFGANG AMMAN Director of Executive Education at Goethe Business School of the University of Frankfurt where he also teaches top management seminars on strategy and governance. He won several European and global awards for his research and teaching. He has written several books on corporate strategy, governance, managing complexity, humanism in business and work-life-balance. He learned his research skills at the Wharton School in Philadelphia and his executive education skills at IMD in Lausanne. After gathering experience in top management consulting, he has been marketing, designing, directing and delivering executive education seminars for a number of years. He directed in the past the Henley Center for Creative Destruction as well as the Henley Center of Excellence in Case Writing.
