The ultraslim Apex AD-1225 does double duty as a movie source and a music player, providing high-end video outputs as well as decoding for the popular MP3 and Windows Media Audio music formats. Apex's active full screen function (AFF) helps resize widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) video images to fill 4:3 aspect-ratio sets. Onboard Active Full-Screen function magnifies widescreen images to utilize the full LCD, eliminating the black bars that normally accompany widescreen programs. Top-of-the-line component-video outputs help minimize line scan and digital artifacts on compatible advanced televisions, while composite- and S-video outputs bring compatibility with nearly any television.
