The clips fit over any standard two-by joist (from 1.45 to 1.59 wide), and fastens with the turn of a thumb screw. The clip?s elevated top slides into preformed grooves in the Atticrafttrade; board, lifting it more than 3/4 of an inch above the joist. This provides more than enough clearance for even the thickest cables found in an attic. The Atticrafttrade; board is sized to work in any standard 16 or 24 on center attic.
