Hi Diane, I understand exactly what you are saying.. You do not have to say such things.. EVERY statement you put in your ad, comes down to a test: 1. Is it realistic or atleast sound realistic to my audience? (what you think and what your audience thinks is not always the same) 2. Am I pointing out the benefits of this ebook.. The benefits are the TRUE sellers of any informational product.. The benefits are what people really want.. They want: A. Freedom. B. Time to spend with the family. C. Pay off debt. D. Have more time to do things. E. More vacation time. F. Being in control of what you do work-wise (no boss hovering over you).
So, really, it doesn't matter if you grandmother can do it.. If you focus on the benefits, they are not even going to wonder why you have low feedback, often.. You have to pull them in and ge their attention.. The benefits are what they want.. That is where they are at in their dreams and hopes.. NOW, the idea is to offer a solid product in return for their order.. You want to give them something that can potentially get them their desires.. Of course, they have to put in the work to get to their dreams with your item.. Just like those in the Olympics.. If they had a handbook written by those who went before them, they could avoid bad training techiniques, focus on the best techiniques, etc.. But, that person who went before them can't do the work for them.. They have to get to that dream.. Of course,
they do not want to hear the "work" word.. Rather than advertise it, minimize it, BUT definitely do not exaggerate on it.. Most will say, oh, you can do this an hour a day and you will make tons of money.. That is not "realistic" as I mentioned in 1 above.. But, at the same time, you just want to tell them realistically what they could make and not exaggerate on the ease of doing it.. Just tell them realistically.
Sincerely Tony Diane Chang <dianec@aaaa.com> wrote: Hi again Tony,
One thing these guys are doing is pointing out how much money they're making, and basically saying, "see, I did this, my grandmother can do it, a 12-year-old kid can do it, you can
too!"
BUT I'm not making any money yet, and I don't feel entirely comfortable claiming that I have. Also, they have feedback ratings in the hundreds, and I currently have either zero or 11 feedback, depending which account I'm using. What I'm asking is - how do I market truthfully AND sound/appear credible at the same time?
And yep, I see where you're going with the CD idea...I've been checking my product rights and it looks like CD distribution would be okay. I'll give this a go once I can get it together.
Thanks again,
:) Diane

< warning - this is a LONG email, but worth reading and soaking in > Regarding your auctions, I would do this.. If you are planning on just doing ebooks and informational products, I would invite you to take a step back and look at the big picture.. The idea is that you are selling information on a topic.. So, the best way to make money on a topic, is to have as much good information as you can get on that topic to sell. Take for instance this auction of yours: OK, if you want to make some really really good money with this topic of information, I would take a different approach.. The below might be a bit of work, but in the end, if you can make $15,000 a year in profit off one information topic, wouldn't it be worth it? So you put in some good work at first and in the end you just sit back and collect money.. The question is "Is one or two months of work and trial and error worth $15,000 a year with no work really afterwards?" MY ADVICE: TWO OPTIONS.. ONE would be to sell my "Affiliate ebook business". This would
get your good money.. You would do it at the top of the page.. You could modify it to include more ebooks on making money on ebay, if you wanted, or you could just try to improve on it.. Here is the link to the "affiliate business": Two, below, could end up making you more money, though.. Just a guess.. --------- TWO would be to follow my instruction below.. WHAT I WOULD DO IF I WAS GOING TO SELL ONE OF THESE INFORMATIONAL PRODUCTS: 1. First, I would do a search to find the top sellers of
information on how to sell on ebay: Generally, most of them list in the above category at the top of the page.. Not all at the top make good money, but here are some of the better ones:
So, what I would do is drop the icon you are using. Use the book picture only once in the auction.. I would make it look like this ebook is fresh.. Then, I might just put it on CD or print it, so I can be in more categories and also so I can get some profits in shipping costs.. 2. I would put the price at probably a minimum of $10 bucks.. When a customer would purchase, I would send more than just this one ebook. I would send several solid ebooks on the topic of making money on ebay. 3. So a price like $5 to $15. Yes, I know, this sounds strange compared to all the "standard" strategies, but trust me, I know what I am doing here..
4. OK, so you will not be selling one ebook, but rather comprehensive information on "Making Money on the internet/ebay" and putting it all on one CD or just leaving it as an ebook compilation.. 5. The approach will not be to use the direct ad you currently have.. The approach also will not be like those amatuers who have silly ads like "14,000 ebooks on one CD for $5 bucks".. This is a bad idea.. Its basically an orgy of product for too low of price, which tells the customer they must not be worth much, whether or not they are worth much.. 6. The price is part of the marketing.. If the price is low, it will not sell well or it will sell but not much profit.. If the price is high, it will not sell or it will not sell much.. If the price is just right, maxed out, it will sell well and make you the most profit..
Do not assume the right price is some price you would want to pay.. Rather, consider what is the ideal price. $9.95 is ideal from experience. That means, this is a confortable level many are willing to pay for good information.. ALL you have to do is provide solid information after you get the sale.. So, right now, you are concerned more so about the sale, as it is pretty easy to find several ebooks on "making money online" and you can even buy books and write your own small ebook, if you think it is lacking (which probably will not be the case).. You basically want to make a package of as much information on making money on ebay as possible.. So, that will be your product goal.. On your sales goal, you want to follow my advice above.. I am thinking the $9.95 range is really good.. Also, I think the CD or DVD might just be
a good way to send it.. Why CD or DVD? Because you can be in FOUR times as many categories.. NOW, why are we doing all of the above.. Why would we want to make this as good as possible.. The reason is because we put in the labor now.. The best we can and THEN we put the marketing bucks behind it.. So, we start with one auction.. Then, when it sells 30% of the time, we take it to the top of the page.. Then, you are getting like 8 or more sales at $9.95 at the top of the page.. You get to keep $50 bucks on this auction every time it ends.. You then branch out into other categories.. Computers/Software/ and Books/Nonfiction and so on.. You get up 5 auctions at the top of the
page, all sell 8 per auction.. Sometimes, you might get a killer auction that sells more than this.. Maybe even 16 once in a while or even higher.. So, now you have 5 auctions making you around $50 per auction, per week.. Now, we are talking $250 profit per week from ONE INFO PRODUCT.. See how this works?? REMEMBER THE REVERSE ENGINEERING STEPS? OK, what you need to do is check out your competitors.. These are some of your worthy competitors: These three sell good at $9.95 .. Most of them do it by digital delivery..
You need to reverse engineer what their ad says.. Tell yourself your ad needs to have the good qualities that makes them bite that you see in their ads.. Do not worry about the product you are sending yet.. Just know you will be able to put it together.. Ask yourself, "if I am making $250 a week off this, will I be able to find a way to get them all they want about making money on ebay/internet?" Of course you will.. That will be your motivation. That is why I dive into this stuff.. The money is good motivation to make a solid package to send them.. Sincerley Tony
Another question - around how many items should I list to begin with, and how many of each? Also - I'm listing on ebay.com.sg, and it doesn't seem to allow me to specify that this is a digital item, or that it requires immediate payment for download. It isn't even giving me the option to use PayPal to receive payment, which I think is very odd.
Anyway, so far I've listed 3 items, three times each (I can't find the Dutch Auction option either). Does this look okay?

On 9/5/06, Anthony W. < optasia_mail@yahoo.com > wrote: Hi Diane, Yes, it does, but it gives it different weight.. OK, lets say you list an item at the top of the page in ebay Canada ( ebay.ca). If I recall correctly, in such an instance, when you goto ebay.com, it will not be at the top of the category when you just click on the category.. But, if you do a search it will be at the top.. So, only when you do a search is it at the top of the page on the other ebay websites.. But, on ebay.ca it will be at the top of the page, even if you just go directly to the category.. To make a long story short, it lists on the other pages, just is not given as much credence.. So, listing in ebay Australia will get me on ebay USA. But, if I do a search only within the USA, my listing from ebay Australia will not show up.. You can restrict like this on the side menu.. Same also vice versa.. From
what I can tell, these are the really relevant ebay sites: After that, I am not sure how relevant they are.. Taiwan, China, Germany will all be in their respective languages, so if you don't know, I would not list.. Tony Hi again Tony,
just a quick question before I get started:
Does eBay.com search the other eBay sites as well, e.g. eBay.co.uk, eBay.com.sg, etc? Or will listings on the individual countries' sites only show up on their own eBay searches?
Thanks!
:) Diane

If you go through the steps and complete them all, you will see very good revenue coming in from just one ebook.. I teach two methods in the article.. One is putting the ebook at the top of the page and the other is to make the auctions only 1 or 3 days long.. I show how to approach it so you do not waste your advertising dollars.. Diane, EBOOK CRASH: I checked the "Eating Healthy" ebook. I can see why it might cause some computers to crash.. I have Win XP, but it did not crash when opening.. It looks like it tries to change the display when it opens the ebook. With a sensitive video card, it could cause your computer to crash. SALEDADDY EXPANSIONS: The website will continue to change.. Actually, I updated this link last night and added even three more pages last night: I have been creating websites since 1998. You should see my other website..
To get an idea of how big of a website I have made in the past: It has so many documents, I don't even remember how many it has!!! Maybe 100,000 or 200,000 documents on it.. Millions of internal links (8 million, maybe?).. I lost track as there are so many.. I started it in 1998 and work on it once in a while now.. It even has many other languages. I think 40 languages: http://www.godrules.net/Default.html . I plan on making http://www.saledaddy.com/memberspro/ so big that it
will have thousands and thousands of documents also.. Maybe I can do thousands upon thousands of internal links and maybe have the largest learning to do business website in the world!!! Its possible that I might be able to make it as big as my other website.. So, in the end, it will be really really worth having access, as I will just keep making it bigger.. I am crazy when it comes to making websites and have many clever techinques to make them really fast, even in other languages that I do not know.. Sincerely Tony Hi
Tony,
really impressed with the changes to the website!
Just to let you know though, there might be issues with some of the ebooks? I downloaded the Eating Healthy one, and it crashed my WinXP.

I can't log in to the memberspro section, though - I still have the password for http://www.titanicimports.com/members/ , since I bought this in March :P
Help me out here, again?

Hi Tony,
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you!
I'm hoping to set up a website dealing in downloadable information products ( i.e. ebooks, maybe software and scripts).
But what I'd like to know is - do people really buy these things on eBay? What I see is a lot of people selling similar items, followed by price undercutting, and items going for about a cent each.
I've never listed items on the US eBay site before - is
this expensive? Is it likely that I'll recoup the cost of listing/advertising?
Thanks, and hoping to hear from you soon!
